Data & Privacy

As the commercial value of our clients’ data has increased, so too has the complexity of the regulatory framework which means they now walk the tightrope of extracting value from the data they hold whilst also complying with the law. Our clients rely on us to ensure they understand their responsibilities under data protection law to avoid not only the considerable fines, but also the reputational damage that inevitably comes with non-compliance.

We provide strategic and practical advice on all aspects of data protection compliance and combine technical expertise with commercial common sense to find the solutions that work for our clients’ businesses.

Our expertise includes carrying out data protection compliance audits, preparing fair processing notices and data protection policies, preparing data sharing and data processing agreements, advising on international data transfers and the purchase and sale of databases, and advising on the use of cookies and similar technologies as well as direct marketing.

We are currently working with clients on their data protection compliance following Brexit, and the challenges to international data transfers following the decision of the European Court in Schrems II.
