iCOMAT raises in Series A, to automate composites manufacturing

Marriott Harrison was pleased to advise iCOMAT, the University of Bristol spin-out, on its recent $22.5m Series A fundraising which was led by 8VC and NATO Innovation Fund and included Solvay Ventures and Velocity Partners VC. 

iCOMAT is on a mission to enable the next generation of vehicles to be lighter and more sustainable in the aerospace, automotive and space sectors. They offer end-to-end solutions, from initial product designs to delivering product components. At the core of their offering is the patented RTS technology which enables highly optimised structures, exceeding past technologies. 

With this round of funding iCOMAT is building its first production factory in Gloucester, which will house three fully automated Rapid Tow Shearing production lines, to be completed by the end of 2024.
