UMA Games: teaching Gen Alpha skills of the future

Friday 17th March, 2023

Marriott Harrison advised UMA Games (UMA) on its recent fundraising round. Carina Initiatives, Dune Ventures, and Riot Games backed the startup, which was founded by Alice Ursini and Maria Novella Mazzei.

UMA encourages children to learn through games, and its team comprises mathematicians, game developers, and creatives who are building enriching entertainment experiences for Gen Alpha. The pre-seed round will help UMA fuel its mission to create entertainment experiences that are intentional about what they teach kids. The startup is currently developing a Multiplayer Sandbox game that it hopes will change how Gen Alpha learns and plays.

Marriott Harrison’s involvement with UMA Games builds on its recent work with other edtech companies, including Kukua, Funexpected and The Happy Puzzle Company. Marriott Harrison is committed to supporting future-shaping companies in the edtech space.

Fran Spooner led the team, which included James Fleming and Ben Cole.
