Marriott Harrison LLP advised City and County Healthcare Group and Sovereign Capital on the acquisition, having advised on the original investment by Sovereign Capital of City & County Healthcare (formerly London Care) in September 2009, the acquisition of Sterling Homecare in April 2010 and the acquisition of Guardian Homecare in September 2010.
City and County Healthcare Group, a domiciliary care provider backed by Sovereign Capital, has acquired Quality Care Services Limited
Friday 14th January, 2011
The acquisition of QCS significantly extends City & County’s presence in Northern Ireland following the Group’s purchase of Guardian Homecare, which operates a branch in County Armagh. QCS is the leading Belfast-based domiciliary care business, providing services predominantly to elderly people. The business has experienced strong growth in recent years and enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its service delivery.
Craig Rushton, CEO of City & County Healthcare, added: “We believe the scale of the business and opportunity of the marketplace make Quality Care Services an attractive bolt-on for City & County Healthcare Group. It consolidates our existing presence and establishes critical mass in Northern Ireland, following our acquisition of the Guardian office in September 2010.”
Commenting on the transaction, Dominic Dalli, Partner at Sovereign, said: “We are delighted to build on City & County Group’s strong organic growth with this acquisition, which is a great addition to the Group in terms of both the services it offers and its locations. The bolt-on of Quality Care Services will enable City & County to meet the increasing demand for domiciliary care in Northern Ireland.”
Dee Sian, Corporate Partner, commented, “We are once again delighted to support City & County Healthcare and Sovereign Capital on their growth programme. The transaction was a natural progression following on from the acquisition of the Guardian Homecare Belfast operations in September 2010”.
