Publishing
The Media & Technology team advises on commercial agreements, book deals and merchandising, and exploitation and protection of copyright and other IP rights and has advised book publishers and authors as well as magazine publishers and photographers.
The team has been retained to undertake a series of libel readings and has given advice in respect of investigative reports and publicity campaigns as well as magazine articles as to whether or not the contents may be defamatory.
We also advise on new media and digital exploitation of content for e-commerce businesses and other more traditional businesses which are expanding into online areas.
Recent work in this area includes:
- Advising Continuum, a publisher of non-fiction, religion and education books.
- Advising magazine publisher Magicalia (Junior, Practical Parenting & Pregnancy, Two Wheels Only) on a host of agreements.
- Retained by literary publishers and a campaigning charity to advise on defamation.
