The firm has a well established IT practice advising various clients in the areas of software licensing, development, SaaS, open source software, web applications and data.
The work undertaken by the Media & Technology team includes software development, licensing, escrow, maintenance and support agreements and outsourcing projects, transitional services agreements, technology services and consultancy agreements, website development and hosting agreements, data centre, disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements, advising on intellectual property rights in software and data and electronic point of sale projects. On the telecoms side, Marriott Harrison advises clients in the fixed, mobile, satellite and data communications sectors and provides advice on network, connectivity, backbone, data loop, VOIP, call centres, data centres, fibre optic/ FTTP configuration and content.
Marriott Harrison is retained by one of the UK's leading investment banks to advise on all aspects of its IT procurement. As a consequence, the firm has also been retained to advise on international procurement projects for the same and, indeed, other institutions.
Recent work in this area includes:
- Advising WDS Global on a host of call centre, software and data licensing and open source software agreements.
- Advising Frank Smythson Limited in relation to its SAP and Managed Services Agreements.
- Advising independent data management, administration consulting and IT specialist, ITM in relation to software licensing and a host of outsourcing arrangements.
- Advising on a software development agreement for an insurance aggregator website.
