Music Advising major international bank on providing finance for a portfolio of music publishing and recording catalogues valued at $30m; advising AIM listed Zest Group Plc on its disposal of the Greensleeves recording and publishing catalogues; advising Plus listed One Media Publishing on its catalogue acquisitions; advising up-and-coming talent on recording and publishing deals: In Case Of Fire (Zomba-recording; EMI-publishing); Zarif (BMG-recording); also currently representing Gallows, t.A.T.u., Funeral For A Friend, Bring Me The Horizon and Lethal Bizzle.
Television Advising DRG on the acquisition of Channel Four distribution business; advising on numerous documentary, music and other television programming (Eagle Rock, Delta Music Group and others); representing IPMA on an upcoming 67 part documentary series “Living History” produced for international broadcast.
Computer Games Advising on a broad range of intellectual property, commercial and e-commerce matters for multi-player online computer games provider NcSoft Europe Limited including co-ordination of international anti-piracy actions; advising Foundation 9 on its UK acquisitions including Sumo.
Intellectual Property Generally retained to advise the beneficiaries of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman on a whole range of rights’ clearance matters; advising numerous brand owners on the protection of trade marks and general copyright issues.
Mediation Successfully mediated a number of disputes – many with a media flavour and involving contracts and/or intellectual property disputes within the television, music and information technology sectors as well as disputes arising out of commercial contracts.
