Climate Change Capital - Private Equity acquires Climate Energy

Climate Change Capital Private Equity, a €200 million fund dedicated to clean technology, has supported the management in the buyout of energy efficiency services company Climate Energy for an undisclosed sum.

Climate Energy advises homeowners in the public and private sector on how to make buildings more energy efficient and on how to finance these initiatives. It also runs an advice centre to the general public. The Essex-based company has been sold by its founder Richard Britton.

Alex Betts, a partner in CPE, said “We are delighted to support the management buy-out of this forward looking company and we are sure we can help Climate Energy grow as it continues its efforts to support long term UK targets for energy efficiency to housing stock. We also see opportunities for growth into complementary business areas.”
