Training Contract
A training contract at Marriott Harrison comprises four seats, of six months duration each. The seats to be undertaken are corporate, litigation, media and technology / employment and property.
In each seat you will share an office with another fee earner, usually a partner, and work within a challenging, friendly and stimulating environment. Your work will be varied and increase in complexity as you progress through your training contract.
In a relatively short period you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of files relating to clients in a range of industry sectors. As a trainee at the firm you are fully involved in the work being undertaken and are given both a high level of responsibility and direct guidance from experienced practitioners. The partners and assistants operate an open door policy which means that you can always find someone who is willing to point you in the right direction or simply talk something through with you.
As a trainee you will be supported in completing your Professional Skills Course throughout your training contract and encouraged to attend additional seminars and presentations to broaden the scope of your development.
The size of the firm makes it possible to build strong working relationships with colleagues and as such, the firm really works together as a team. Trainees are actively encouraged to become involved in marketing and social activities and there are plenty of firm-wide internal social events including softball, football, bowling, quiz nights and regular “drinks” as well as trainee led social events.
