Life at Marriott Harrison

trainee's snapshot

I joined Marriott Harrison as a trainee and my first seat was spent in the Corporate department before moving to Litigation for my second six months. In this relatively short period of time I feel that I have worked on a wide variety of files including, during my first seat, two public offerings on AIM and numerous private equity transactions. Our clients work in a range of industry sectors and this, together with the firms’ ambition and high standard of work makes for a training contract of the highest standard in a challenging, friendly and stimulating environment.

assistant's snapshot

Marriott Harrison offers an assistant the stimulation and challenge of working for a City practice in a friendly and supportive environment. Having been at Marriott Harrison, first as a trainee and then staying on as an assistant since my qualification in 2004, I have had the opportunity to work on a range of corporate and commercial transactions, from M&A to private equity and public offerings on AIM. In particular, the firm's client base is such that you find yourself working across many of this country's more dynamic sectors of industry such as IT, entertainment, media, leisure and retail and, as it the case with such sectors, getting involved with many interesting business ventures that are ultimately driving the UK's economy.

partner's snapshot

I joined the firm in 2004, having spent 3 years in the corporate finance team at a leading investment bank in the City. Prior to that I was corporate lawyer in the London office of a major US law firm. My remit on joining the firm was to help grow the firm's equity markets practice - it is thanks to the supportive atmosphere here, and the significant experience and expertise of my partners, that we have been successful in achieving what we set out to do.
