corporate

The corporate team has expertise in a wide range of M&A and corporate finance transactions. There is a particular specialism in private equity, whether representing financial institutions or management teams, where the firm has some prominent clients. The corporate team also works closely with clients whose businesses involve the exploitation of intellectual property and is very familiar with issues particular to 'people businesses'. Other specialist areas in which the team is regularly involved include VCT and EIS (including particularly EIS prospectuses), joint ventures, corporate restructuring, AIM and PLUS Markets listings, share option schemes and banking and financial services.

media

The media team deals with all aspects of the creation and exploitation of content including films, television, music and sound recordings, computer games and software programs. In addition to negotiating contracts and advising on copyright and intellectual property rights and regulatory matters, the team applies its knowledge and experience in advising on large scale IT procurement contracts in respect of which it is retained by two major banks and one of the major international record companies. Broadcasting work has extended into the radio industry where the firm is regularly instructed by a leading radio group.

litigation

The litigation team is widely experienced in commercial litigation with particular expertise in media, intellectual property, corporate, banking and fraud. Considerable work is undertaken in co-operation with overseas lawyers in international litigation, particularly in fraud and intellectual property matters. There is a substantial proportion of interlocutory work seeing injunctive relief.

employment

The employment team deals with the full range of contentious and non contentious employment issues including employment contracts, tribunal claims, approved and unapproved share option schemes, redundancies, corporate transaction support and other employment matters.

property

The property team undertakes a wide range of freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, developments, joint ventures and deals with associated issues such as planning matters, environmental issues and financing. The department also provides a support function on transactional work for corporate and media clients.
