Marriott Harrison group Corporate partners Andrew Williamson and Nils Reid and associates Calum Robertson and Deirdre O’Neill acted for Greenshields Agri Holdings Plc (“Greenshields”) in connection with its merger with Agricultural Management (Haddington) Limited (“AMH”), for cash and equity in the business. Greenshields is a rapidly growing agricultural company based in South East Scotland, and its merger with AMH, the East Lothian based farming and farm management company, will create one of the largest agricultural operations in the Northern Grain Belt – an area of the UK that produces some of the highest wheat yields in the world.
The resulting group now has farming operations spanning over 7,000 acres of arable land and 18,000 tonnes of grain storage facilities. This will result in a doubling of arable land size, increased capital investment in storage and farming technology, which will exceed projected national averages for wheat yields this year.
Andrew Williamson has worked with Greenshields for over 15 years, building a close relationship with the company. He said: “we’re delighted with this result. At Marriott Harrison, we celebrate the successes of our clients, and were pleased to advise Greenshields in this exciting development. The merger presents an opportunity for Greenshields to grow and develop its agricultural business, an ambition which we are proud to support.”
